Here's another idea: 
Host a book club or discussion group.  Consider selecting a fiction book (like The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time by Mark Haddon, for example).  Or rent a movie (HBO's Temple Grandin biography, for instance) or a documentary and discuss with friends and family.
