One of the jobs of an ambassador is to alert government officials about important issues. Connecting with town council and raising awareness about autism will help ensure they keep the needs of the autism community in mind. Please consider writing your mayor to ask him/her to proclaim April as Autism Awareness Month in your town!

Here are some ways to reach out to your local officials:

  • Write a letter stating why autism awareness is important to you.
  • Request a proclamation declaring April as Autism Awareness Month.
  • Ask to make a 5-minute presentation about autism and the needs of the autism community at the next town council meeting.
