Making Autism Acceptance Personal at Riverside School
At Riverside School in Princeton, NJ, everyone is coming together to celebrate National Autism Acceptance Month this April!
The entire school community, including students, teachers, and the PTO, collaborated to create special t-shirts for the month. They chose the theme "Make It Personal" from Autism New Jersey’s Ambassador Program and designed activities for students to participate in. Each grade has its own writing topic, where students can share personal stories about their experiences with people who have developmental disabilities, whether at school, home, or in the community. These stories will be showcased at a special assembly later in the month. Additionally, the PTO organized a design competition for awareness pins that everyone will proudly wear!
