A Family’s Journey and Dreams

Meet the Cash Family

Nearly 23 years ago, our lives changed forever with the doctor’s words – your son has autism

What does that mean?

Is he going to be okay?

Will the world accept and embrace him?

We remain on our own journey of awareness and acceptance, which continues to teach us so many things: No two people on the autism spectrum are the same, and autism knows no gender, racial or other boundaries.

Our son is empathetic, loving, courageous, kind, smart and incredibly capable – he is not defined or limited by autism.

His dream is to be a social worker and help others on the spectrum and he’s now in college pursuing that dream.

We aspire to foster an inclusive world that respects the diversity of individuals on all parts of the spectrum, treats them with equity, and embraces their whole selves.

The tapestry of our lives is more beautiful because it is woven with the threads of our son’s life and those of countless other incredible and diverse human beings on the spectrum we have had the good fortune to know over the years.

Thank you to Autism New Jersey for being their voice and driving awareness and acceptance.
